Individual and Family Therapy

"When carving stone, the sculptor removes everything that is not the statue...wholeness exists within us. Our work is to chisel away at everything that is not...self"

  • -Judith Lasater

Everybody has a story worth telling. We are all in this world together, and it's not an easy road getting through. When you are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, other life stresses or family issues, sometimes it can be helpful to have someone who is not a friend or family member sort through your thoughts and feelings. As your counselor, I come from the belief that you have everything you need already inside of you. Sometimes you need someone to walk beside you as you chip away what is not working in your life, and to find the source of light that is there within you.

My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space, where you are empowered to make your own choices toward your mental health well-being. I do not take a cookie-cutter approach in my counseling, because I believe that each individual has a unique story. Some types of things that I do include using mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques. I also believe that movement is medicine and I incorporate exercise as a way for you to experience increased well-being.
